The Monroe Chamber of Commerce is the premier business league in the City of Monroe. We are an economic development organization serving as the official Destination Marketing and Management organization (DMO) for the City of Monroe.

The Monroe Chamber is supported by membership contributions and City of Monroe Lodging Taxes. The Chamber is uniquely able to serve visitors, local business and residents by carefully investing resources into programs and efforts that expand awareness of the Monroe community as a wonderful place to live, work and play – the essence of our mission.

Each member has a full webpage listing on the website and listing on the mobile application. provides information about all there is to do and see in Monroe, for both visitors and residents. The itinerary builder allows users to add your business to their map and email it out to their contacts to easily plan visits, daily errands and even relocation resources.

Even if you’re business isn’t considered a visitor “attraction” you are featured because residents use visitor information to find local resources. is funded by Monroe Lodging Taxes, but is owned and managed by the Chamber. Our close partnership with the City of Monroe is rewarded with special placement under the Visitors tab on the Official City of Monroe website, .This is important for your business because it places our member businesses only a few clicks away from the City’s official website.

Your business is now more visible because also enjoys reciprocal links on the Evergreen Speedway websites among others; has featured placement on both Chamber-owned visitor kiosks at the corner of Main and Lewis in Downtown; at the west entrance of the Evergreen State Fairgrounds; is listed on many major event posters; visitor brochures and on the Snohomish County Tourism website

As DMO for the City of Monroe, the Chamber works hard with all tourism partners including other area Chambers; the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau; Sports Commission and Lodging Association representing all major attractions, hotels, convention centers and attractions in Snohomish County.

As a member business listed on, your webpage is an electronic brochure about your business. Your page is available with live links to your website and social media 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. connects your business with customizable maps, your social media pages, but more importantly allows users to “share” you directly with their social media channels contact lists 300 social media channels including Linkedin, Pinterest, Google, Tumblr and more. features a Major Events section. Members can easily create Special Offers with other member businesses by offering shared incentives with your partners like seasonal promotions and discounts associated with major events.

Getting Started:

To get you started, we’ve created a web page listing for you, created username and password associated to the email provided with your membership. The content on the site is member driven so once you log in, you have complete administrative control over your listing. You can connect to your official website, social media, upload videos, graphics, photo images and links you want customers to have. You can add and change your webpage as often as you’d like. We review your updates, but they go live immediately.

Advertise on

Your web page listing and inclusion on the mobile application are all part of your basic membership, but additional opportunities to increase your exposure through upgraded advertising placement on will be available in 2014.


The Chamber site functions to promote your businesses to the outside world and features an internal customized “Members Only Directory” that lets your company to share business to business information with other owners, directors, managers and CEOs, such as your direct line or email, items you don’t have listed for the public to see.

The Members Directory is a strong networking tool for business who want to do business within the Chamber network. For example, if you’re company is looking for a new accountant or a painter, you can select Painting, Accounting from a menu in your section titled, “Services My Business Needs”.

Your selection creates a list of your needs that other member businesses can see. Members are encouraged to do business with each other, to trade and barter for services to keep the member network strong.

Promotional Goodie Bags for Groups

Your membership enables us to promote your business and services to local hotels and various event producers. Simply provide us with your coupons, menus and samples for inclusion into hospitality or “goodie” bags.

Bulk Mail Privileges

As a member, we allow you to use our bulk mailing permit and this saves you money. Contact us for details at the Chamber office (360)794-5488. The US Post office no longer provides organizations with a stamp for your mailings, but our permit is still available for you.

Friday Updates

The Chamber produces a weekly update and sends it to the entire membership. We do our best to note members in the news, events, acknowledge sponsors, welcome new and renewing members, have quick links and give updates about what is happening that week.

The Chamber Ambassadors Program

An Ambassador for the Monroe Chamber is a member on steroids. The Ambassadors Program is a wonderful opportunity for those with a passion for their business to promote the valuable role the Chamber plays in the community.

Ambassadors carry the message about our strong, local business network to new and prospective members ensuring growth needed to support our members. They take the lead with special projects and outreach. Contact the office and let us know why you’d like to be an Ambassador.

Economic Development Committee

This essential committee plans and implements ways the City and Chamber can work together on revitalization efforts and future planning for the community including developing a new Festival Lot downtown, public restrooms and signage. This committee is getting underway this Spring, contact us for details.

Monthly General Membership Luncheons

General Membership Luncheons feature guest speakers and various topics of interest. Held the second Tuesday of each month from 11:30 till 1 pm, members enjoy the popular “$5 holler”, a 60 second commercial on the topic of their choice. Funds collected from the “Holler” go to the Chamber Scholarship fund. Members are also welcome to bring materials to place on table tops.

Twice a year, the lunch format is dedicated to roundtable speed-networking, an opportunity to meet and greet everyone. Be sure to bring plenty of business cards and any materials to share and hand out.

Drawings and giveaways are offered with a business card drawing – a great opportunity to get attention for your business. Call the office if you’d like to donate a prize or service.
Lunches are $16 per person and we request an email or phone reservations by the Friday before the luncheon, but walk-ins are welcome!

After Hours Networking

Generally held on the last Thursday of the month, from 5:30 till 7 pm, the Chamber After Hours networking event is sponsored by a member business. We announce the After Hours at the lunches and remind members with in the Friday Update.

Host businesses who want to host an After Hours should contact the office. This networking opportunity helps business promote their physical location and form bonds with other businesses. The host business provides light snacks and refreshments for guests and arranges their own giveaways for drawings.


Community Awards Celebration

This long-standing tradition recognizes member businesses and volunteers for exceptional accomplishments and contributions to the community. The Chamber shares this celebration with other non-profits who recognize their members. Nomination forms are available now for this Spring-time tradition. Take the opportunity to nominate those you know are working hard in the community to make a difference.

The Fair Days Parade

The Chamber, City of Monroe, and Monroe School District with support from the Evergreen State Fair produce the popular Fair Days Parade in Historic Downtown on the first Saturday of Fair week. This event draws thousands of locals and residents into Downtown and is a wonderful opportunity to get to know Monroe.

Chamber members are encouraged to volunteer at this important event to ensure it is a safe and fun community celebration. Meetings for event planning start in March and volunteers are invited to a special Fair Appreciation Dinner that comes with free fair admission, parking and concert tickets!

Light Up Monroe – Annual Tree Lighting in Historic Downtown

Held the 1st Saturday of December.  Light Up Monroe is a huge holiday celebration with caroling, performances by the Monroe High School Band, vendors and annual tree lighting in downtown Monroe. This large event depends of volunteers and sponsors to make it a wonderful and engaging event the community looks forward to each year.


Many sponsorships and booth opportunities are available for Chamber events. In addition, the Chamber is working hard with major event promoters to assist them with the sales and sponsorships they need from local business to keep their events strong.

The Chamber enjoys a special partnership with the Mastercraft Wakeboard Tour and TriMonroe Triathlon held at Lake Tye and the Hispanic Rodeo held at the Evergreen Speedway. The Chamber receives a donation for each sponsorship and booth sale purchased by Chamber members to support the event helping keep the Chamber strong.

501 (c) 6 Status for Fundraising and Promotions

As a non-profit, the Chamber can assist member organizations with Special Occasions Licenses needed for special fundraising events where alcohol is served and sold to the public. The Chamber considers proposals presented by partners who want to hold events for fundraising and promotions. Contact the office for details.
